About Susan
Susan has been with MYHAT as an interviewer since 2007 and in the last few of years also acts as a trainer and mentor for interviewers at the beginning of their work with the study. Susan’s undergraduate degree and graduate work focused on psychology and research and she has worked in a number of different settings over the years including mental health, clinical and academic research, teaching and health education.

Looking back, Susan says she can’t imagine a more satisfying career. It has allowed her to meet a wide variety of people from whom she has learned so much. Getting to know so many of the MYHAT participants has been a joy.

A proud native of Baltimore, Susan now loves Pittsburgh and lives with her husband in an older home which she and her husband enjoy updating and remodeling. Much of their leisure time is spent reading or in the garden, but most of all, taking long walks with their beloved dog Groot.
