15104 Seniors Project: Photos

2023 Community Days

On August 12th, we participated in Braddock Community Day, setting up a table in front of our office to talk with everyone who stopped by. We offered cold water, popsicles, study information, and free blood pressure testing. It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood to see and catch up with members of the community, including residents, local leaders, and businesses. We even had a special visit from IceBurgh of the Pittsburgh Penguins! The following weekend, we joined Rankin’s Community Day at the Carrie Furnace, again sharing information about our project and handing out gifts to those who stopped by. We enjoyed mingling with members of each community. We love participating in these events and are already looking forward to attending next year!

The Free Store Celebrates 10 years!! (2022)
The Free Store in Braddock celebrated 10 years with a birthday party that included a photo booth, fire pit, hot chocolate, giveaways for the community, singing, and of course, birthday cake!! We were honored to be a part of the community celebration being present passing out our flyers and swag. 100th Participant Milestone!

The 15104 Seniors Project hosted a celebration on October 13th, 2022, to recognize the milestone of getting 100 participants signed up for the study. The study’s Community Advisory Board were invited to show our appreciation for all their support and discuss ways to continue to reach additional residents for more participation in the study. It was a great time connecting with everyone!

2022 Community Days

Braddock: Seniors Project staff enjoyed the weather while participating in Braddock Community Day. We were able to interact with various community leaders and members of Braddock and the surrounding communities. We took blood pressures, provided water, popsicles and other small gifts while sharing information about our study and purpose! It was such a fun and beautiful day for all and we can’t wait until next year!

Juneteenth (2022)

We attended Braddock's first annual Juneteenth celebration. We spent the day mingling with members of the community, providing information about the Seniors Project and taking a free blood pressure reading for anyone who was interested.

Rankin Christian Center (June 2022)

Seniors Project staff gathered with members of the community at the Rankin Christian Center and spent the day creating flower paintings together. Our staff provided all supplies and the lovely members of the community provided great company!

Virtual Meetings

Both Seniors Project and MYHAT personnel gather weekly for a team meeting. Some are able to gather at the MYHAT office in Oakland, and those that cannot join in person, join virtually.

Take a tour of our office!

Located at 501 Braddock Avenue, we occupy a large space on the ground level.

Our spacious front lobby provides ample room for participants and their family to relax as they arrive for their visit. Or sit back and mingle with our staff in the conference room!

Participants who agree to have their blood drawn can head to our on-site lab, where one of our experienced Research Interviewers can draw a sample. After their blood draw, they can head to their Research Interviewer’s office (pictured: Niruthigha) to complete their visit.
